Abstract

Computer software is an important tool in concretizing and understanding the abstract subjects in mathematics teaching. There are many studies that use computer software in mathematics teaching, and the results of these studies can be dealt in different dimensions. The synthesis of the studies for using computer software in mathematics teaching in a holistic way is seen as important for demonstrating the studies conducted in this context. For this reason, a detailed examination of postgraduate dissertations in this context could provide both mathematics education and computer and instructional technologies. In this respect, the aim of this research is to examine the postgraduate dissertations regarding using computer software in mathematics teaching and to synthesize the results. In this context, the postgraduate dissertations within the study were examined in terms of the dimensions of participants, sampling method, data collection tools and data analysis within the method. Besides, the distributions of postgraduate dissertations were examined in terms of years, universities and departments. Also, the distribution of mathematical fields, topics and the computer software used in the postgraduate dissertations within the study were determined. Finally, in line with the results of the postgraduate dissertations within the study, the effects of using computer software in mathematics teaching were analyzed and synthesized in various dimensions.
