Abstract

Movies are a tool that can help students understand the real and imagined world and the worlds of others, and enter into them. At the same time, films enable them to understand life by watching them, to become critical consumers about what they see, to gain the ability to appreciate and analyze the film they watch, and to explore social issues with the themes of the film. On the other hand, as the films are very familiar to the students' daily lives, their use as a course material is a tool to enrich their learning environment. In this respect, the effectiveness of the use of films as a course material in the Social Studies course is the problem of the research. Therefore, in this research, the opinions of 7th grade students studying in a private secondary school as a teaching material about the effects of the use of social sciences lesson in the process of processing of Human Relations and Communication unit on the learning process, and the film analysis related to the course and the other films It is aimed to determine the realization status of acquisition, skills and values.
