SPSS 20 statistical package program and percentage-frequency analysis were used to analyze the data. According to the findings of the study, there is a relationship between students' shyness and speaking skills in the community. It is not true to expect a shy student to speak Turkish while he / she is afraid of speaking in his / her native language, and to evaluate this student on an equal footing with other students. For this reason, Turkish instructors should identify shy students and make special studies for these students.
