Evaluating the Perspectives of the Teachers Who Teach Turkish to the Syrians Regarding Listening Skills

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the opinions of the teachers who teach Turkish to the Syrians regarding their aims and achievements, activities, methods and techniques, materials, assessment and evaluation in terms of their listening skills. The opinions of the teachers who teach Turkish to the Syrians have been examined in the study is designed as a case study from qualitative research designs. 41 teachers selected from the teachers who voluntarily participating in the study. Easily accessible case sampling is used in the study. In conclusion of the study it's determined that the teachers have difficulties in reaching the aims and achievements related to listening, that the frequency of using the listening activities is low and that some of the teachers do not view it is important to assess and evaluate listening skills.
