Purpose of this study is to analyze the children’s songs in the book ‘Çocuklar ve Gençler İçin Şarkı Demeti’ written by Muammer Sun, in terms of values. In line with this purpose, a total of 70 children’s songs in the book were analyzed in terms of 27 values set out in the Directive on Values Education of the Ministry of National Education (MNE). Being a qualitative study where document analysis method isused, data of the study consist of the lyrics in the book. Data of the study are demonstrated in tables, with the help of certain coding mechanisms in accordance with variables; such as processing of the values and frequency of use. The study concluded that out of 70 songs; 34 of them are in support of the values listed in the directive; 7 of values were not involved in these songs; and that 20 of them were highlighted, which corresponds to the majority of the values. This indicates that songs by Muammer Sun are effective in terms of the acquisition of social values by children. His songs are suggested to be utilized in every stage of education starting from the pre-school age.
