Abstract

One of the main functions of the schools is to provide extracurricular activities for the students and thus contribute to their multi-faceted development by enabling them to have a better time out of lessons. Students need to enjoy their time by joining such activities more and more at our present time. This study aims at finding the benefits of these activities for classroom management and what teachers think about the adequacy of these activities. It is totally based on the teachers’ views who were chosen for this research. It is a qualitative study and 10 teachers from different branches were selected through purposive sampling. They were interviewed using semi-structured forms. The forms were prepared by the researchers. The questions in the interview form were prepared to be consistent with the aim of the study. Descriptive and content analysis methods were used in data analysis. Codes and themes were identified and arranged as frequency tables. Teachers' opinions were categorized and then the findings were interpreted. According to the results obtained from the study, teachers believe that club activities are effective in many areas of students’ development but are not be carried out at desired level in schools because of several reasons.
