Abstract
The aim of this study is to conduct a meta-analysis study based on the results of 34 studies that examine the effect of gender on academic self-efficacy in Turkey and include independent studies from 2010 to October 2019. This study contains the comparison of gender differences in academic self-efficacy by effect size value and the subgroup analyses. The analysis in this study which is based on the total point of academic self-efficacy scale consists of 13951 students. Of the students, 49% are male and 51% are female. Random effects model was used in this study, and the study findings demonstrated that the gender differences in academic self-efficacy is lowly significant (Cohen d value. 43). Subgroups analog ANOVA was performed according to type of publication and sample group in the study. Only the sample group on which the study was carried out varied by variables (Qb = .23, df= 2, p<.05).
