In this study, the aim is to evaluate the analyses on language learning software by the pre-service teachers who have taken the elective course FRN4104 Computer Assisted Language Teaching II. It is targeted to study the software in relation to technical and educational features; general structures and content; limitations and the possibility of effectiveness. The participants of study are 12 senior prospective teachers studying at Uludağ University, Education faculty, Department of French Language Teaching in the academic year of 2009-2010. While selecting the software, the criteria were that the software were designed for autonomous learning and that they were not analyzed by other researchers with related online publications before. The participants will have analyzed the software via the scales used by Kartal (2004) within the related literature. The software analyzed by the participants are the ones developed to teach Turkish, English, French and Spanish. The research findings reveal that the software meets the needs of the learner or the user especially on improving their language skills in general. The results of the present study indicate that there is a high need for the analyzed software to be improved especially to ensure that the learners are more active and motivated in the learning process.
