The objective of the research is to enable the legibility properties of the writings which the second, third and fourth grade primary school students have written to be determined. The data of the research carried out according to the descriptive survey model of quantitative research methods have been obtained from the primary school students in the center of Kırıkkale province. The sample group of the study consists of 1297 primary school students receiving education at the second, third and fourth grades. Data have been gathered between the months of October and December, in the fall term of the academic year 2016-2017. In the research process, it has been enabled to make the students write by means of dictation and by looking at close range. In the assessment of the legibility of the writings which the students wrote, Multi-Dimensional Legibility Scale has been used. The writings noted down by the students have been scored by means of Multi-Dimensional Legibility Scale, by the researchers. These scores have been analyzed by a computer-aided statistical program. In the light of the findings obtained, the following results have been reached: Both the writings which have been made to the primary school students included in the research by dictation and the ones they have performed by looking at a close range are legible at medium-level. For the legibility scores of the writings made by dictation, they present significant difference on behalf of male students. In terms of the writings made by looking at close range, the legibility scores show a significant difference on behalf of male students. In the writings which have been made the students write by dictation, it has been determined that there is a significant difference according to the class level and that the legibility score also decreases while the class level increases. The legibility of the writings which the primary school students included in the research have produced by looking at close range shows significant difference according to the socio-economic level of the environment in which the school is.
