The professional experiences of symphony orchestra artists represent a journey filled with both successes and challenges. Artists navigate these processes throughout their careers through their personal and emotional perspectives. The primary aim of this research is to deeply explore the professional experiences of individuals serving as instrumentalists in a symphony orchestra. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 28 musicians from Turkey's leading orchestras, including the Presidential Symphony Orchestra. The study focuses on the musicians' musical journeys, family support, and early education, as well as the balance between the advantages and challenges of the profession. The findings indicate that early exposure to music and disciplined practice significantly influence professional success, but the physical and psychological demands of the profession place substantial pressure on the artists. This study aims to provide a deeper understanding of the career development of symphony artists and offer guidance to individuals considering a career in this field in the future.
