The aim of the study was to contribute to the literature by determining the current situation through analyzing the academic studies on 21st-century skills with bibliometrical analysis. In the study conducted with the bibliometrical analysis model, the data were obtained from the articles published in the WoS database in the field of 21st-century skills between 1991-2023. A total of 3888 articles, which were scanned and selected within the framework of certain keywords and themes, were analyzed through bibliometrical analysis. The ‘bibliometrix’ package and biblioshiny application developed for the R program and VOS viewer program were used in the analysis of the data. In the analysis, the number of articles, annual increase rate, number of citations, author profiles and international collaborations were investigated. The findings revealed that there is an increasing interest in the subject of 21st-century skills, there are a wide variety of components in the related academic studies, and author collaborations in these studies are prevalent. When the subject of 21st-century skills was analyzed in terms of countries, it was seen that the USA, Australia and Canada were ranked as the countries with the highest number of references, while Turkey was ranked at the bottom of the list. In terms of the highest number of publications on the subject, European, US and Chinese universities were ranked prominently. The analyzes revealed a clear visual structure of the main body and components of the 21st-century skills framework concept. This framework is a valuable outcome in terms of guiding new research on the subject.
