Abstract
Bu araştırmanın amacı olağan gelişim gösteren ve özel yetenekli öğrencilerin eleştirel okuma, okuduğunu anlama becerilerini çeşitli değişkenler doğrultusunda incelemektir. Araştırma İstanbul’da bulunan tüm bilim ve sanat merkezleri arasından rasgele seçilen iki bilim ve sanat merkezinde eğitim görmekte olan 83 beşinci sınıf özel yetenekli öğrenci ile normal okullarda eğitim görmekte olan 324 olağan gelişim gösteren 5. Sınıf öğrencileri ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada veri toplama araçları olarak Ünal (2006) tarafından geliştirilen “Eleştirel Okuma Ölçeği”, araştırmacının hazırladığı “Kişisel Bilgi Formu”, “Okuduğunu Anlama Testi” kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda elde edilen veriler SPSS20 paket programı ile analiz edilmiştir.

Abstract
The purpose of this research is to analyze the critical reading and comprehension skills of the gifted and normally developed students. The research was carried out with 83 5th grade gifted students who were randomly selected among all science and art centers and 324 normally developed 5th grade students and who are studying in ordinary schools. In the research, “Critical Reading Scale” developed by Ünal (2006) and “Personal Information form” “Reading Comprehension Test” developed by the researcher were used as data collection tools. Data collected at the end of the research was analyzed with SPSS20 Package Program.
