Abstract

This research aims to determine the opinions of preservice science teachers about smart learning environments. In this research, a case study, which is a qualitative research approach, was used The study group of the research consisted of 24 preservice science teachers who were studying at the Science Education Department of the Faculty of Education at Firat University in the 2024-2025 academic year. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with the preservice teachers, and the interview data were analyzed using content analysis. According to the preservice science teachers, they had both positive and negative opinions about smart learning environments in terms of teachers and students. Preservice science teachers stated that smart learning environments will increase efficiency in education, student participation, and ease of creating course content. They also stated that they would positively affect the learning process and student motivation. On the other hand, they stated that it may make the learning process difficult and may create technological addiction and health problems.
